Timeless, simple, and highly functional – that’s how designer Henrik Tengler aptly describes the Chairman chair, which he designed back in 1990. What sets this chair apart is its remarkable comfort, making it an ideal choice for conferences and larger gatherings, almost like a prestigious “chairman” at the head of the table. The original concept for this classic chair stemmed from one of Henrik Tengler’s existing designs, incorporating the finest materials of stainless steel, leather, and wood. These three foundational elements were artfully combined in the design of the Chairman, resulting in an optimized level of comfort and usability.

The enduring popularity of the Chairman chair over the past three decades is no mere coincidence. Its sturdy build and thoughtfully chosen materials create a seamless harmony that delivers an unmatched sitting experience, accommodating both an upright posture for focused attention and a more relaxed position for moments of ease.

Henrik Tengler modestly states, “My designs may not be groundbreaking, and that’s not how I perceive my work. I gravitate towards a more classic approach, placing greater emphasis on the functionality of the furniture. My utmost priority is to ensure that you experience true comfort when seated.”
